A Thief in the Night
"But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night."

"An Uncertain Sound"
A couple of nights ago, I decided that I better turn on my TV to see if it was still functioning, since it hadn’t been on in some time. So I turned it on and tuned to a religious station out of curiosity to see what they were talking about. To my astonishment they had a discussion panel addressing the Great Tribulation Period. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. The panel consisted of a leading pre-tribulation advocate who had written a very popular book that sold millions; a post- tribulation advocate; and another who was somewhere in the middle.
All were speaking of the tribulation period in futuristic terms. What amazed me is that none of them realized that we were already into the last few days of that period. Each of the panelist view of this period was antagonistic of the others. About the only thing they were in agreement was that it would soon occur. None had any clue as to when it would start. They also agreed that the anti-christ would be some malevolent man who would enter a literal temple in Jerusalem and take control of it and then began to rule the world. The audience clapped and cheered as if they were witnessing a boxing match whenever one of their subscribed beliefs was emphasized ; and and it appeared that none knew that what they were hearing was not even close to the truth of the matter. I wanted to scream at the TV, but realized that even if they could hear me, they wouldn't.
I was also amazed at how little the panelist and the host seem to know of the Bible; since after all, these men were considered top leaders in their respective theological area. The discussion was quite disgusting to my ears and mind. I thought; these men were suppose to be the watchmen of their flock but appeared to be blind guides as Jesus has called such. My heart went out to those in the audience who had bought into the things these men were saying. All claimed to be followers of Christ, yet they were divided on His Word and were leading the people into adopting false hopes. What a sad sight.
A verse that often have heard quickly came to my mind:
Christ will be here in a few weeks but each of the advocates were telling the audience that the time of Christ return was very near but that no man knew when. I had to conclude that they didn’t believe the promises of God where He tells us that He would reveal many things to His elect in the end times, and that He has already revealed the very date of His return to His people.
Each of the panelist were giving conflicting reports of the time, so that it was impossible for the hearer of these things to know anything conclusive about this time period or what was the truth of the matter. Their message to the audience was basically; if one stays ready there was nothing to worry about. Each panelist was also touting their most recent book and cd’s for a fee of course. The program also invited the audience to accept the Lord as their personal Savior and this would be the protection from whatever would happen. Another verse was in my mind by this time. Our Savior said of these people:
When the program ended, I was sort of sorry that I watched it because it only intensified my sorrows. I quickly grabbed my mp3 player and listened to the Book of Revelation before falling to sleep, thanking the Lord that He has given me eyes to see these errors that were presented in this program, which brought another verse to my mind in which God showed Ezekiel the things that were occurring in His sanctuary in his day:
As I lie in my bed, I could not help but think of the things that I witnessed and these were perhaps only the tip of the iceberg of the confusion and errors that exist in the churches and congregations worldwide. They are producing an “uncertain sound” to their congregations. I asked the Lord to have mercy on us all and fell asleep.
What I witnessed was akin to a living nightmare and those images and sounds are still clearly embedded in my mind. If the Lord doesn’t enter these men’s lives, what will they do on May 21 when He shall appear??? I dare not think of that.

Isa 56:10-11 His watchmen are blind: they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber. Yea, they are greedy dogs which can never have enough, and they are shepherds that cannot understand: they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter.

Eze 8:6 He said furthermore unto me, Son of man, seest thou what they do? even the great abominations that the house of Israel committeth here, that I should go far off from my sanctuary? but turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater abominations.
