Another Brief Look at "No Man Knoweth the Day"

While it is true that the Bible states that "No man knoweth the day" of Christ return, this verse is not indicating that no man can ever know that day, in fact there is an abundance of scripture that indicates that God's people will know the exact day of the Lord's return.
In Acts 1:6-8, we read:
“When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.”
When Jesus uttered this statement, it was a true statement.  Notice I said "was a true statement.  This is no longer the case today.  Jesus made this statement at a time when the gospel of the Kingdom of God was known only to a very small group of people that lived in a very small region of the world.  In fact, many people of that region viewed Jesus and his small band of followers as heretics.

The most important thing at that time was for the disciples to get busy and take the gospel to the ends of the world; not to be concerned about the end time.  However, notice what Jesus tells them:
“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. “
The disciples were to receive power by the indwelling Holy Spirit and they were to become witnesses unto Jesus.  Jesus promised them the Holy Spirit which is very significant.  It is by this indwelling Spirit that His people would know the mysteries of the Kingdom of God, which included knowing when He would return.

The scriptures tell us:
 1Co 2:12-14
(12)  Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
(13)  Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

(14)  But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
From this passage we know that the elect of God are privileged to the things of God in ways that the natural man (the man that does not have the Spirit of God dwelling within him.) does not.  In fact, we are explicitly told that the things of God are hidden from the natural man.  The individual that professes a belief in the scriptures must believe these things or he/she is not a true believer.

Now if these things are true and one is truly a chosen one of the Lord God, then this individual should expect the many other promised knowledg of God; for example; we read;
Mat 13:10-11
(10)  And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?
(11)  He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
God has also said:
(Joh 16:13)  Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

(Joh 16:15)  All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

(Mat 10:26)  Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.
These are just a few of the things that the Lord God has promised to His elect so that they will know of the things of God, and there are many more.

So when the True Believer is told:  (Amo 3:7)  Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.  He/she can rest assured that God will do as He has said.

The prophet Daniel was shown visions of the end of this world.  Daniel was astonished by them; he was sick for days and didn’t understand.  He asked the Lord about them.  God told Him that these visions were to occur at the end of time, but were to remained hidden until then.  God tells Daniel to seal up the words and the prophecy and goes on to tell Daniel that;
(Dan 12:10)  Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.
Moreover we are told in Ecclesiastes 8:5  Whoso keepeth the commandment shall feel no evil thing: and a wise man's heart discerneth both time and judgment.

From these passages it should be clear that God’s people would one day know the time of the end once that time period arrived, especially when we take note in Revelation where we are told that the sealed visions of the book that is mentioned in Daniel was opened.
Rev 5:1-4
(1)  And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals.
(2)  And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof?
(3)  And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon.
(4)  And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon.

Rev 5:6-7
(6)  And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.
(7)  And he came and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne.

Christ has taken the seals off the book and God’s people have been given much information about the end of the world and much more.  For example; we know the precise age of this world; we know the precise year of the worldwide flood; we know the year when the Great Tribulation Period began; we know the precise day that the church age came to an end and many other time references including the very date of Christ return, which is May 21, 2011.

God has always warned His people of coming destruction.  He warned Noah, He warned, Abraham, Lot, Moses; the city of Nineveh; to name a few, and He is warning His people today that Judgment Day is only 10 weeks away.  (Amo 3:7)  Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.

There is much more to be said about this Great Coming Destruction, space and time won’t permit me to continue, but should you want to know more, this information is readily available.  Here are a few websites where you can know more.

Now is the Day of Salvation!!!  Just as the Lord God shut the door of salvation on the 17th day of the second month of the Biblical calendar, He will also shut the door on May 21, 2011, which just so happens to also be the 17th day of the second month of the Biblical calendar in our day.  Coincidence???  Think again.  May He give you the eyes to see, and the ears to hear what He has decreed.
