Hasn't God Said???

I am very sure that those in Noah’s day asked him how he knew God was going to destroy the world.  Since there was no book written that purported to be the Word of God, the only thing that Noah could say was God told him.  Can you imagine what the naysayers said to Noah???  “How do you know it was God who told you this???   You are delusional," or "you are a false prophet,” and probably much worse.  So is the case in our day don’t you think???

However, in our day God has been gracious enough to provide us with His Word, which is contained in a written format, and there are many proofs that are contained in it that point to this God’s Day of Vengeance, but how many people really care to take a serious look at these things???  Granted it is hard work to search and study these things, but I would think that the matter calls for all due seriousness.  Nevertheless people are simply content to believe that since the world has always continued as it has for thousands of years that it will not end in their lifetime.  Isn’t this what the scriptures tell us???
(2Pe 3:4)  “ . . . Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. “
More likely this was also said in Noah’s day, don't you think???.  Some things in humanity never seem to change.

Still other people are content on listening to their religious leaders, or their church doctrines; accepting what they are told; never daring to question these authoritative establishments, even when they readily detect inconsistencies with what the Bible says, and what they hear from the current establishment.  “No man knows” has become their theme song when they are confronted by those who tell them we can now know.  The naysayers demand a specific chapter and verse that states a specific date, and if they are given this verse, they tell us, they will believe it.

Now if these people were reading their Bibles humbly and leave their preconceived notions out of the mix, crying out to the Lord God for mercy, telling Him that they don’t know anything, and to give them understanding, perhaps, or just maybe God would open their understanding so that they might see what He is saying; and if so, they would have some insight into how God wrote the Bible.  They would know that God hides truth.  They would know that God has elected a certain group of individuals before the foundations of the world to be heirs in His magnificent kingdom.  Perhaps they will know that God has said:
(Psa 78:2)  I will open my mouth in a parable: I will utter dark sayings of old:
They would know that God said:
Mat 13:34-35
(34)  All these things spake Jesus unto the multitude in parables; and without a parable spake he not unto them: (35) That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world.
They would know the reason why Jesus spoke in parables.
(Mat 13:11)  He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
They would also know that:
(Pro 25:2)  It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.
They would know that God told Daniel:
(Dan 12:9-10) And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.  (10)  Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.
They would know that Chapter 5 of the Book of Revelation tells us that the seals that were taken off the book that Daniel was told to seal up, and as a result, we now know many of the things that Daniel was told about the end times.

They would also know that God has said:
(Isa 48:3)  I have declared the former things from the beginning; and they went forth out of my mouth, and I shewed them; I did them suddenly, and they came to pass.
And of course, they would know that the Bible tells us:
(Amo 3:7)  Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.
These are just a few of the many things God has said that should give rise to the idea that God has done certain things for His elect; and moreover, He has hidden things from the multitudes of this world.  Shouldn't the notion come to mind of the naysayers, that maybe God has also hidden in His Word the day of His return???

These things alone should cause one to pause and consider that perhaps it would behoove one to examine God’s Word a little closer for themselves instead of blindly reciting what their churches or pastors have told them.  Perhaps it would also spark the notion in them that maybe there is indeed something to this May 21, 2011 date that they have heard from a few people, of whom they believe to be insane, shouting that Judgment Day is just around the corner.

However, since many are called and few are chosen, I suspect that as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be on May 21, 2011.  Hasn’t God told us this too???

May the Lord of the Universe have mercy on us all.
